Baked Spaghetti Casserole

Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the ground beef or Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti and the meat sauce until well mixed.
Transfer half of the spaghetti mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese and half of the grated Parmesan cheese over the spaghetti layer.
Repeat with the remaining spaghetti mixture and cheeses, creating another layer.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired, and serve hot.
Enjoy this comforting and hearty Baked Spaghetti Casserole as a delicious meal for any occasion!
