Homemade Strawberry Topping

Instructions:
In a saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries begin to release their juices and the sugar is dissolved, about 5-7 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and cold water until smooth to create a slurry.
Stir the cornstarch slurry into the strawberry mixture and continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the strawberry topping cool to room temperature.
Once cooled, transfer the strawberry topping to a jar or airtight container.
Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Serve the homemade strawberry topping over your favorite desserts or breakfast items, such as ice cream, waffles, pancakes, cake, biscuits, or cheesecake.
Enjoy the burst of fresh strawberry flavor in every spoonful of this delicious homemade topping!
